TheTin’s mission is to produce digital media that combines the emotive power of advertising with all the expectations we have of good design.

No doubt our backgrounds in advertising and product design inform our approach!

More than that, our expertise means that not only does our work embody all the ideals of form and function, it performs too.

Website design

Websites are increasingly becoming key to building loyal brand relationships. Our vision is to deliver an online experience that not only reflects your brand but gives it depth, personality and relevance. We believe that an internet presence must inform and engage, simplify and satisfy to ensure customer retention.

The following examples show a range of our expertise in this area:

Hotblack

"A slick stylish affair" - New Media Age magazine

Hotblack Desiato, independent estate agents specialising in the North London market, invested in a bold and contemporary new design scheme to give them an edge over competitors.

While the identity, window display and shop front have been designed to attract attention on the high street, the website, an essential part of an estate agents’ marketing in this age of online property searches and sms updates, has been designed to break category conventions both visually and functionally.

With a brief to deliver a website with consumer-centric functionality and a fresh and contemporary look and feel, TheTin delivered an elegant and easy to use content rich site that simplifies and improves the property search experience, and provides fast and easily accessible information grounded in visual references and local information.

Tom Dennison, marketing manager at Hotblack Desiato says “The challenge for us was to find someone who could deliver a front end design with visual impact that worked with our Jupix platform, which supports back end estate agent information. TheTin have done just that and have exceeded our expectations of what could be achieved”.

Phaidon

Quality and beauty

Phaidon Press, one of the world’s leading publishers of books on the visual arts, appointed TheTin to create a new website to establish its reputation online.

TheTin delivered a site that balanced an ambitious creative brief and the high design values associated with Phaidon against the equally demanding technical and commercial objectives of increasing online sales.

TheTin’s strategy was to preserve the pleasure of browsing, which forms a key part of the purchasing experience for Phaidon’s design-conscious consumers, by creating a simple and uncluttered interface that is as visually appealing as it is functional.

The result is a sophisticated transactional website that retains Phaidon’s values of quality and beauty, while providing customers with an intuitive browsing and buying experience.

Ronnie Wood

Up close and personal

TheTin created a new website for rock star legend and pop artist Ronnie Wood that has been designed as a very intimate reflection of the man, his music and his art.

“We worked very closely with Ronnie and his family on the design of the site, it was important that it was more of a personal statement than a promotional tool” says Jamie Simmonds, co-founder and managing director of TheTin. The result has an ‘up close and personal’ feel, combining images, music, footage and art from a long and intense career as musician, songwriter, producer and artist.

Key to the site is the exclusive content that is featured in the ‘Caravan’ section. The Caravan is where fans can register for access to Ronnie’s personal tour and gig footage, unreleased music, exclusive prints and screensavers, memorabilia auctions and fan contributions. It is also designed as the cutting edge element of the site that integrates exclusive HD video with 3D animations.

An affectionate reference to Wood’s family history as ‘Water Gypsies’ the Romany caravan as seen on the site was created from exclusive footage of Ronnie’s own caravan, shot by TheTin on HD and combined with backgrounds created by 3D partner, Three Blind Mice and compiled by TheTin’s Flash department headed up by David Robinson.

The site launched with 140 albums and 67 singles, over a 1000 tracks and links to buy and read album reviews. It also includes an online portfolio of over 100 pieces of art that spans his entire career as artist.
